Turle knot

Turle knot

This knot named after Major William Greer Turle, a 19-th century English angler. He didn’t claim to have invented it but popularized the knot. The knot is widely khown as the knot for connecting a fly or hook to a leader. Te spetiality of the knot is that the fishing line emerges perpendicular to the hoook shaft. Due to this property, this knot is often used tor tying the fly when fishing salmon, or tying the ice fishing micro lures. One of the simplest knots. Knot strength — 42%-60% of the strength of fishing line.
